Mediation is right for you if:
- There are no serious issues of violence or abuse.
- The grieving process over your separation is ongoing or complete for both parties but you can face each other and negotiate with each other.
- You are willing to keep an open mind and listen to the person’s concerns.
- You are willing to voice your own concerns.
- You are willing to work out a solution with the other person.
- You are willing to meet with the other person in face to face discussions with the mediator present.
- You are willing to communicate with your spouse or other person in mediation.
- You want to stop the fighting, wish to avoid court and work out a deal. You wish to settle your dispute.
- You agree to provide full disclosure of assets, liabilities, income and other relevant information and documents.
- You understand that there are various options to dealing with conflict and have decided that mediation seems right for you.
